He Nailed It

On Monday in Vancouver, Burnaby Q. Orbax set the world record for the most motorcycles driven over a human body over two minutes while lying on a bed of nails. A total of 70 motorcycles went riding over Orbax’s body. The previous world record (YES, THERE IS A PREVIOUS RECORD!!!) was held by Simone Calati from Italy. Orbax told his doctor his skin was hurting but the doc said his story was full of holes. This is information you didn’t need to know and yet I felt compelled to pass it along.

I am a 72-year-old retired journalist, busy recovering from a lifelong career as an unretired journalist. This year marks a half century of my scratching out little fables about life. My prized possessions include my old guitar and a razor my Dad gave me when I was 14 and which I still use when I bother to shave. Oh, and my great-great-grandfather's blackthorn stick he brought from Ireland in the 1850s. I have only one opinion but it is a good one: People take too many showers.
